Update forecast wage indexations 2024

Belgium has automatic wage indexation. In several sectors, wages were indexed on 1 January 2024. Usually, this concerns an indexation of all real wages, but in some sectors the indexation only concerns the minimum wages.
Indexations on 1 January 2024
- In the construction sector (JC 124), the minimum wages and effective wages were indexed by 0.45%;
- In the complementary joint committee for white-collar workers (JC 200), the minimum wages and effective wages were indexed by 1.48%;
- In the metal sector for blue-collar workers (JC 111), a CLA increase was introduced on the national minimum hourly wage. This increase amounts to €0.2606. The provincial minimum hourly wages increase insofar as they are lower;
- In the metal sector for white-collar workers (JC 209), a CLA increase of 80 EUR was introduced on the guaranteed minimum monthly wage. The wage scales increase insofar as they are lower.
Indexations during 2024
- In the construction sector (JC 124), the wages are indexed quarterly. Expectations for this year are: 0.91494% on 01/04/2024; 1.45853% on 01/07/2024 and 0.68381% on 01/10/2024.
- In the metal sector (JC 111 and JC 209), wages are expected to increase by 3.61% on 01/07/2024.
- In the wood and upholstery sector (JC 126), the following wage increases are expected for 2024: a 1.711% increase on 01/04/2024, a 1.74% increase on 01/07/2024 and a 0.68% increase on 01/10/2024.
- In the cleaning sector (JC 121), a 2.57% wage increase is expected on 01/07/2024.
- In the joint committee for road transport and logistics (140.01.03), a 4.12% wage increase is expected on 01/10/2024.
We advise you to take these increases into account in the context of your pricing and budgeting.
However, the above list includes only a few sectors. There may be increases in other sectors in 2024.
